Radical Rick: The Complete Episodes Press Proof (2 of 8)
This rare press proof for the cover of Radical Rick: The Complete Episodes represents an early stage in the publication process of the book celebrating the iconic BMX comic series created by Damian Fulton.
Only eight full-color press proofs were produced to verify color accuracy and printing quality prior to final publication. This particular example is numbered 2 of 8 and was used by Fulton to confirm the final appearance of the cover before the book entered production.
Printed on 12 × 18 inch heavy stock, the proof features a hand-crimped “Certified Radical” gold foil seal, along with Fulton’s handwritten signature and numbering. Items such as these provide insight into the behind-the-scenes steps involved in producing BMX publications and artwork.
As one of only eight examples created during the printing process, the press proof represents an extremely limited artifact tied directly to the production history of one of the most significant collections of Radical Rick artwork ever published.
