This Fall Risk Racing “Mathias” jersey was presented to the Lititz BMX Archive by BMX racer Greg Mathias following the return of a historically significant jersey discovered within the Leary Locker collection.
While documenting artifacts recovered from the locker, the archive identified a 2017 Team USA “Leary” jersey connected to Mathias. After the jersey was returned, Mathias donated this race jersey as a token of appreciation.
The gesture highlights the collaborative spirit that exists within the BMX community, where riders and historians often work together to preserve and document the sport’s history. Within the archive, the jersey represents not only Mathias’s racing career but also the cooperative efforts that help ensure BMX artifacts remain properly preserved and documented.
