Known for her success across both BMX and track cycling, Amelia Walsh became one of Canada’s notable dual-discipline cycling competitors. Born in Ayr, Ontario in 1992, Walsh discovered BMX racing as a teenager and quickly rose through the national ranks, developing a riding style built around aggressive racecraft and strong gate speed.
Walsh captured back-to-back Elite Women’s Canadian National BMX Championship titles in 2013 and 2014 while consistently representing Canada in international BMX competition, including multiple UCI BMX World Championships appearances. Following a major crash in 2016 that resulted in serious injuries, she transitioned into track cycling and rapidly adapted to the velodrome environment, later earning a UCI World Cup silver medal in the team sprint.
Competing for Canada across both BMX and track cycling disciplines, Walsh contributed to national sprint programs at major international events including the Pan American Games.
