Preservation and Publication Method

The public archive was derived from the controlled private Facebook accession. Original JSON ZIPs and original-resolution media were not rewritten. Every exported source object received a stable archive ID, source locator and SHA-256.

Public Markdown pages preserve selected record fields rather than publishing the complete raw JSON object. This avoids exposing irrelevant Facebook technical metadata while retaining the posting event, text, context, links and media relationships.

Still-image files were checksum-deduplicated. Public derivatives retain the full visual frame, remove EXIF metadata, limit the longest edge to 1,200 pixels and are linked back to the original export path and SHA-256.

All source records remain independently indexed. Reaction exports are preserved in both legacy and modern forms and additionally reconciled into a canonical reaction register.
