The UCI Pump Track World Championship is fast, loud, and surprisingly intense — much closer to head‑to‑head sprint racing than the mellow, playful vibe most people associate with pump tracks.

🌍 A global championship series
The event is part of the Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships, a worldwide series of qualifiers that lead to a single World Final each year. Riders from dozens of countries — BMX racers, mountain bikers, and pump‑track specialists — compete for a shot at the rainbow jersey.

🏁 The racing format
Riders race one at a time, trying to set the fastest possible lap on a compact, highly technical track.

Times are often separated by hundredths of a second, which makes every pump and every line choice matter.

The track is usually around 180–200 meters long, with tight berms and fast rollers that demand perfect rhythm. The 2024 championship track in Durban, South Africa, was 191 meters and described as “technical and demanding”.
