Payton Ridenour is an American BMX racer from Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She’s known for her smooth, stylish riding, her versatility across cycling disciplines, and her upbeat personality. She started racing at age five and quickly became one of the most successful young riders in the country.

She’s known for her creative side projects, community involvement, and approachable presence in the sport.

Riding a pump track is all about moving your body in sync with the terrain so you create speed without pedaling. Think of it like dancing with the rollers — your timing does the work.

Here’s a simple, natural way to picture it:
As you approach the front side of a roller, you get light. Your arms and legs extend a bit, your body rises slightly, and you stop pushing into the ground. This lets your bike glide up the face without fighting gravity.

As you go over the crest, you stay relaxed and centered. No big movements here — just let the bike float underneath you.

As you drop into the backside, you get heavy. This is where the magic happens. You push down through your legs and arms, driving your weight into the bike and the ground. That downward pressure is what creates speed.

Through berms, you lean your whole body with the turn, keeping your head level and your eyes looking ahead. You push into the low point of the turn the same way you push into the backside of a roller.

The rhythm becomes:
 light → neutral → heavy → repeat
When it clicks, you feel the track giving speed back to you every time you push. It’s smooth, almost meditative, and you barely think about pedaling at all.
