Canonical page transcription

Located within the National Sports Centre Papendal in Arnhem, Netherlands, the Papendal BMX Track serves as the premier high-performance BMX racing facility in the country. Operated in partnership with the Royal Dutch Cycling Union (KNWU) and TeamNL, the track functions as the primary training base for the Dutch National BMX program. As part of the Netherlands’ national Olympic training center, the facility provides elite athletes, national team members, and developing riders with access to world-class coaching, training resources, and competition opportunities within one of Europe’s leading high-performance sports environments.

Designed to support modern BMX racing and BMX Supercross competition, the facility features both 5-meter and 8-meter starting hills, allowing riders to develop the skills required for national, international, and Olympic-level racing. The track has hosted numerous national and international competitions while serving as a year-round training venue for some of the sport’s most successful athletes. Through its integration within the Dutch high-performance system, Papendal plays a central role in athlete identification, development, and preparation for World Championships, World Cup events, and the Olympic Games.

Within the broader context of Dutch cycling, the Papendal BMX Track represents the highest level of BMX athlete development in the Netherlands. While the country is internationally known for its cycling infrastructure, road racing tradition, and everyday bicycle use, Papendal has become synonymous with the success of Dutch BMX racing. Many world champions, Olympic medalists, and elite international competitors have trained at the facility, helping establish the Netherlands as one of the most successful nations in modern BMX competition. Today, Papendal remains a cornerstone of Dutch BMX development and an important venue in the continued growth of international BMX racing.
