This post is about learning what NAG means.
In USA BMX, NAG stands for National Age Group.
It's a national points ranking program for riders within a specific age group, encompassing all skill levels (Novice, Intermediate, Expert). To earn a NAG ranking, riders accumulate points from their best national event finishes (a certain number of races plus the Grand Nationals are typically required).
Riders who achieve a high NAG ranking (typically top 10 or 20, depending on the class) are awarded special "NAG plates" to display on their bikes, signifying their national standing within their age group.
