Pump Track Update: We had the rec meeting this morning (0730) - for an old retired guy with a night shift nurse wife and a toddler - that ain’t easy…
- - -
Hi Team Pump Track!
We had the Rec meeting today. Apparently this was the first in over 2 years and I am only person from the community to have ever showed up.
So… Most seemed to be interested. One of the members seemed not-interested because there is no space and everyone is telling him they want more __ field space.
The space I displayed in a bounding box on the flier is the LaCross field. Saylor Park was mentioned and so was a partnership with the Rock Lititz as an option.
The members directed Brian Harris (Township Manager) to analyze the concept and report back in July.
The pump track was the 2nd item of discussion and already on the agenda based on Mark Stancliff and I bringing it up in January.
Heavy discussion was had about appropriate age groups, myths of this being only biking were dispelled, and whether or not it is an appropriate investment for the township.
They seemed to express no interest in this being a “grass roots” effort because of how past experiences have gone (my take - baseball fields did us in).
I think Brian and a couple of other members are really interested in the concept and making things happen. I wanted to say “Go Brian!” - if that is any indication on how I took his reception.
We shall see - A little prayer goes a long way
If you want to help get this built, please share this post within the community. I say we let them know we want more than just fields!

The original field is retained exactly as exported. The human-readable field repairs character-encoding damage only; it does not rewrite wording or correct claims.
