Green Mountain Cyclery sat just off the main drag in Ephrata, PA, its windows crowded with bikes that hinted at motion even while standing still. Road bikes leaned with quiet confidence. Mountain bikes carried a little dust. And over time, more and more BMX bikes began to fill the floor, their short frames and knobby tires impossible to ignore.
